Cellist Carina Reeves grew up in Vancouver and was educated at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, where she earned her Master's degree studying under Colin Carr and Ben Zander. She has also studied at the Britten-Pears School in England, the Banff Centre for the Arts, and the Tanglewood Music Centre in Massachusetts, where she won the 1998 Annual Cello Prize. Over the years, Carina has worked and performed with many notable musicians, including Yo-Yo Ma, Msitislav Rostropovich, Seiji Ozawa, Andre Previn, Peter Serkin, the Arditti Quartet, and the Juilliard String Quartet. Carina is currently freelancing in Toronto, where she is a member of the Via Salzburg Chamber Orchestra. She will be performing in the Canadian Opera Company Orchestra for the 2001-2002 season. As well as performing in a collaborative dance show for solo cello and dancer at Toronto's Dance Fringe Festival, Carina was also the cello consultant for the Sophia Loren film "Between Strangers." |
